IIMPEPEREMBE is a Ndebele traditional group which started in 1998. The group is based in Bronkhorstspruit, next to Pretoria in South Africa. Their unique traditional style of dancing makes them to be well recognised and remembered by most people across the country.

The name IIMPEPEREMBE is derived from a Ndebele word which means beautiful girls. The group is formed by young South African ladies from different cultures. They would like to show others that they are proud of their culture even if they are still young. The total number of the group members is 12 including the backing band. Patience and Alfred Skosana are the founders and also the leaders of this group.

IIMPEPEREMBE sing a mixture of Afro Jazz, Classic and Ndebele Traditional Music and is the first group that sing this type of Ndebele music. Their music is enjoyed by everybody (young and old), this is because of the sounds or instruments they produce.

Iimpeperembe so far they got three albums in the market. Their first album is called “I-DEMOCRASY” which  was based on the freedom that children have nowadays, and the second one is “ABOMMA” which they intent to respect women globally.
Their latest album which is called “LISA AMALA” is doing well at the market and people can’t stop talking about it. This is because of the uniqueness from other albums of the same genre.

They have travelled many places around South Africa. This includes Pretoria, Johannesburg, Mpumalanga, National Heritage Places, to name but a few. Their biggest aim is to travel around the world showcasing their talent and the beauty of Ndebele music, and also to learn more about cultures around the world. They also want to do more collaborations with other artists locally and abroad.

They usually perform during cultural events, on various festivals, indoor shows, weddings, etc.
